Emilia Clarke’s weight loss journey, does she have a health issue?

Emilia played one of the badass ladies on Game of Thrones, yet her diet and workout routine is surprisingly gentle.

The googly-eyed actress, who played Khaleesi, the Mother of Dragons, in HBO’s famous show Game of Thrones, left an indelible impact on the hearts of her admirers with her dazzling smile and outstanding performance.

When Clarke was preparing for her role in Terminator: Genisys, she had to go through a lot of training.

More importantly, she has conquered some rather bizarre health issues, some of which have had an impact on both her role as well as her food and fitness regimens.

The actress who played Daenerys Targaryen appeared to have lost weight recently.

Was it her health issues that prompted her to embark on a weight-loss journey? Was it due to her own volition? Or was it her acting needs, or was it something else entirely? Let’s find out:

Emilia Clarke’s weight loss journey

Clarke had her first aneurysm shortly after Season 1 of Game of Thrones ended. It happened during a personal training session.

She began to feel as if her brain was about to explode in the middle of her workout. She tried to fight through the discomfort and continue working out, but her trainer insisted on a pause.

A few minutes later, she was brought to the hospital.

After the surgery, doctors discovered she had another tiny aneurysm, which could become an issue in the future.

It didn’t prevent her from filming the next two seasons of Game of Thrones, but she did have it removed before the fourth season.

Thankfully, Clarke’s now in good health, but she did make some changes to her diet and fitness program.

She follows a clean and lean diet for weight Loss

A reputed celebrity trainer, James Duigan, founder of the workout program called “Bodyism”, helped the Emmy-nominated star in advocating her eating habits.

According to James, eating better is always a better alternative than eating less. He jotted down one of the greatest diet plans for Clarke, which she describes as a “Lean and Clean” diet plan that completely changed her eating habits.

The “Lean and Clean” philosophy emphasizes clean foods, which include vegetables, fruits, lean proteins, healthy fats, herbs, spices, and full-fat dairy.

Healthy eating, according to Duigan, is required for weight loss. It is not possible to shed weight quickly while also harming the body with harmful practices.

Her workout routine

Though Clarke’s diet is a big part of keeping her in shape, it’s not the only thing she does. She also exercises on a regular basis.

Clarke works out three to four times per week and enjoys body weight and TRX band exercise. To strengthen her core, she exercises in push-ups, burpees, and squats.

Her toughest training started while she was filming Terminator. She spent hours each day before and throughout filming in firearms training. She was doing a lot of kickboxing and weight lifting.

Now, the Dragon Queen doesn’t have to perform as much heavy lifting as she used to. Instead, she focuses on keeping her body toned and slim by doing high-rep exercises using only her body weight.

In addition to bodyweight training in the gym, Clarke tries to fit in yoga, Pilates, and high-intensity interval training (HIIT) routines. As her personal trainer advises, switching up your exercises throughout the week is the best way to go.

So, why is it important for her workout program to incorporate variations? Because variations keep things in good condition. And if you enjoy your workout, you are more likely to stick to it and less likely to skip it.

And this definitely works for the Mother of Dragons.
