Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson ignited engagement rumors when she went out with a diamond ring on her left finger.

Rumors began to spread after Thompson’s sister Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon uploaded pictures of her family posing with Shannon’s newborn twins, in which 16-year-old Alana was wearing the ring on that finger.

Honey Boo Boo Set To Marry Dralin Carswell?

The 16-year-old celebrity and Dralin Carswell are not engaged. According to a representative for the star, Thompson is not engaged, and the ring is “just a promise ring.”

However, a close friend of Alana told The Sun, “I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s engaged, but I’d be really happy for her. Dralin makes her happy.”

After Thompson’s sister, Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon, posted pictures of her family, rumors that Alana had accepted a proposal from Carswell began circulating. In one of the pictures, she appeared not to be attempting to conceal the large rock as she used her left hand to brush her hair away from her face.

Likewise, in an Instagram photo of herself and Carswell, 20, from the spring, Alana could be seen wearing a ring on ‘that finger.’ She captioned the pictures of herself and Carswell wearing identical shirts, “park dates with you are the best.”

When Did Honey Boo Boo Meet Her Boyfriend?

After dating for six months, Thompson and her partner Carswell made their relationship public in September 2021. The reality star, 16, posted a picture of herself and her 20-year-old boyfriend visiting a pumpkin farm with the caption “spooky season.”

According to an informant at the time,

“Dralin and Alana are attached at the hip and hang out together all the time. He was quiet at first, but now he’s like one of the family now.”

However, fans have criticized Alana’s relationship with Carswell because of their four-year age difference while Alana is still a minor.

Talking to TooFab, her mother, June “Mama June” Shannon, said,

“She is getting a lot of hate because she’s in an interracial relationship, he is older. At the end of the day, Alana’s not that 6-, 7-year-old child y’all fell in love with 11 years ago.”

Alana was recently photographed outside with Dralin, so it appears she has chosen to ignore her detractors.

Despite the initial criticism, the couple seems stronger than ever as they were spotted holding hands while taking a stroll outside close to her house in McIntyre, Georgia.

The couple appeared to enjoy one other’s company without worrying about the world. Alana and Dralin couldn’t stop holding hands throughout the short hangout.

Alana previously acknowledged that she had no friends before she met her partner. Thus, the relationship appears to have positively impacted her life.

In August 2021, Alana said she doesn’t have many pals. She mentioned that she doesn’t have friends since she doesn’t trust anyone.
