Sherre is one of the active-leading voices seeking justice for her sister who passed away mysteriously in 2010.

She is also known as the daughter of Mari Gilbert, an American activist who became a victim of the stabbing.

Mari Gilbert was an advocate for her late daughter, Shannan. She was stabbed by her own daughter, Sarra. It is said that Sarra had a voice in her head saying her to carry out the crime.

Who is Sherre Gilbert?

Sherre was born in 1987 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Her late mother, Mari, worked at a Walmart.

Mari had four grandsons and was engaged to Elroy J. Shulterbrandt when she was killed by her own daughter.

Sherre is the daughter of the late American activist Mari Gilbert. Her father left the family when she was young. Gilbert’s dad was addicted to heroin and was schizophrenic, a chronic brain disorder.

She is the second child of Mari, after her late sister, Shannan, and her younger sister, Sarra.

When did Sherre’s sister Shannan die?

Sherre Gilbert’s sister, Shannan Maria Gilbert, went missing on May 1, 2020, in Long Island.

According to Oxygen, police found Shannon’s body in a marsh at Oak Beach on December 13, 2011, more than a year after she went missing.

Shannan, who used to work as an s*x worker, had gone to see a client before she went missing.

Before she disappeared, 911 received repeated calls from Sherre’s sister, who was apparently panicked.

According to PIX11, the deceased New Jersey homeowner allegedly exclaimed, “They’re trying to murder me!” throughout the chat.

However, to this date, it is still unknown who Shannon was referring to. Her death later became famous as the “Long Island Serial Killer.”

Who was Shannan Gilbert’s killer?

According to NBC New York, police initially concluded that Shannan died from accidental drowning.

However, a year later, a medical examiner stated that the cause of her death was hard to find.

The Gilbert family, led by their mother Mari, requested an independent autopsy by a forensic pathologist on Shannan’s remains.

According to the new report, her death was consistent with homicidal strangulation. A tiny bone in Shannon’s throat was missing, indicating that it had been fractured when she was murdered.

Shockingly, just days after finding Shannan’s body, authorities discovered the bodies of ten more persons at Gilgo Beach.

Surprisingly, four of the victims who died as a result of strangulation worked as s*x workers.

Sherre spoke for her sister’s death

Despite the fact that Shannan’s body was discovered as part of an investigation into a suspected Long Island serial murderer, authorities refused to treat her death as a homicide.

Shannan’s family is still searching for answers to this day.

Sherre stated that all of the murdered ladies, including her sister, were escorted when asked why she believes it was a homicide.

She also stated that her sister went to meet a man named John before she had gone missing.

According to OK Magazine, Sherre, and her mother claimed that Shannon became the victim of the Long Island serial killer.

Sherre revealed that her sister had other dreams apart from working as an s*x worker. She wanted to become an actress, singer, and writer.

Sherre’s sister, Sarra, killed her mother

On July 23, 2016, Sarra killed her mother, Mari, with a fifteen inches knife. She hit her with a fire extinguisher and stabbed her 227 times.

The attorney of the Gilbert family told that Sarra invited Mari to her apartment after she started to hear voices.

Sherre asked cops for a welfare check on their mother, which led to the discovery of the crime where Sarra had killed Mari.

Where is Sarra Gilbert now?

As of now, Sarra is serving 25 years of her life in prison.

Ulster County Judge Donald Williams said that he would make sure Sarra gets the mental health treatment she needs.
