Is Busta Rhymes married? Let’s know his love history, ex-girlfriends, and baby mamas!

American rapper Busta Rhymes, whose real name is Trevor George Smith Jr., is a father to 5 kids with three different women.

Busta Rhymes is a prominent Hip-Hop musician known for his multi-syllabic rhyme scheme and rapid-fire rhyming technique.

Hailing from the East Coast, he made his mark on the music industry as a member of the legendary group, Leaders Of The New School.

Busta Rhymes, dubbed “Buster” after NFL hero George “Buster” Rhymes, has had exceptional success as a solo artist. More than the singles themselves, his music videos were the highlight of his career.

While the rapper’s musical career was thriving, his personal life was not. All of Busta’s baby moms have had tumultuous relationships with him. He’s also had more than one run-in with the law.

Is Busta Rhymes married? His current relationship status

Busta Rhymes has never been married and consequently has never had a wife either. He’s also likely not in a relationship; at least there’s no public evidence that he is.

However, the rapper has a long list of women he’s dated throughout the years. In fact, he is the father of five children, whom he shares with three different women.

We’ll look at his dating history and evaluate it in depth below.

Busta Rhymes and Joanne Wood

Busta Rhymes and Joanne, his longtime girlfriend, had been together since high school. According to many sources, Busta, aka Trevor George Smith Jr., was a harsh wannabe rapper, while Wood was a modest girl.

Despite their polar contrasts, love brought them together, and they spent another decade getting to know each other.

The couple welcomed three children – T’Khi Wood-Smith, T’ziah Wood-Smith, and Trillian Wood-Smith. T’ziah Wood-Smith, the couple’s eldest son, was born on February 26, 1993. He went on to play professional basketball with the Quinnipiac Bobcats men’s basketball team.

T’Khi Wood-Smith, Busta Rymes’ second child with Joanne, was born in 1991, and he is an ambitious football player. Trillian, the youngest of the group, was born in 2001. He is very likely to follow in his father’s footsteps in the world of music.

Even though the pair never married, they worked on their relationship for more than a decade. It’s incredible how far Wood had come from high school lovers to becoming a baby mother to three young men.

However, things between them started deteriorating, shattering their relationship once and for all.

He once took a ‘paternity test’

The Break Ya Neck rapper is currently in a decent relationship with most of his ex-girlfriends. However, in the past, he did not always get along with the majority of them.

One of the women he dated, Jill Miskelly, made him go to court and take a paternity test in 1999, confirming that he was the father of his daughter Mariah, who was born in 1998.

He was still paying $1,200 a month in child support even before the test came back positive.

The rapper is now a proud father of his daughter, Mariah. She prefers to use her mother’s surname instead of Busta’s. She currently goes by the name Mariah Elizabeth Miskelly.

Busta also dated Rhonda Randall

The rapper is also the father of another daughter named Cacie Smith. He shares Cacie with his ex-girlfriend, Rhonda Randall.

Custody battle with Joanne Wood

Busta Rhymes also had to fight his ex-girlfriend Joanne Wood in court for custody of his children.

They had a long legal struggle over the matter, and Joanne has been outspoken about Busta’s animosity toward her.

Wood explained in 2006 that the hostility stemmed from her being a lesbian, not because she was a horrible parent to their three children. As claimed by Wood, Busta was enraged because she ‘liked a lady more than him.’

Despite this, the Nassau County Family Court judge, Burton Joseph, ruled that Rhymes was a better parent than Joanne Wood. As a result, Busta Rhymes emerged victorious in the bitter custody battle.
